Literature Circle Book Club

The IRC encourages all students to join the Literature Circle Book Club, where opportunities are provided to students not only to discuss a book but also offer a chance to improve their literacy skills and to help them develop a better understanding of the issues around the world.

Audio-Visual Equipment

The IRC offers a range of audio-visual equipment to support presentations, group projects, and other learning activities. The available resources include:

  • Headphones
  • Microphones
  • Calculators
  • Power Boards & Extension Leads
  • Digital Cameras
  • Video Cameras
  • Tripods & Selfie Stick
  • Speakers
  • Data Projectors & Laser Presenters
  • External Optical Drives
  • Gimbal
  • Go-Pro

Students who are members of the AV Team are permitted to borrow AV equipment for use on school premises. They are fully responsible for any loss or damage to the equipment while it is in their care.

Circulation Services

  • Loans – The IRC offers a comprehensive lending system to support its patrons. Borrowing can be done either through the RFID Kiosk, which requires an identification card, or directly at the Circulation Desk. Books are available for a standard loan period of two weeks. For other resources such as AV equipment, kits, closed access materials, reference books, class sets, and teacher resources, patrons are advised to consult with the IRC staff to confirm the applicable loan periods.
  • Returns – All borrowed resources must be returned by the specified due date to ensure fair access for all users. Failure to return items on time may result in overdue fines, suspension of borrowing privileges, or replacement fees for lost or damaged materials. Patrons are encouraged to return items early if they are no longer needed.
  • Renewals – If you need to keep your items longer than the original due date, you can renew them to extend your borrowing period. However, renewals are subject to availability. To increase the chances of a successful renewal, you should request it a few days before the due date—don’t wait until the item is overdue. Keep in mind that renewals may not be granted if another user has reserved the item, if you’ve reached the maximum number of allowed renewals, or if your account has outstanding fines or overdue items.
  • Reservations – Patrons may reserve items that are currently checked out or unavailable. Using your account through our Library Management System, you can place a reservation online. Once the item becomes available, it will be set aside for you, and the Library Staff will notify you when it is ready for collection.

Overdue Penalty

To encourage timely returns and ensure that materials remain available for all users, the library enforces penalties for overdue resources.  Borrowers who fail to return resources by the due date will have their borrowing privileges suspended until the item is returned in good condition or replaced. During this period, no additional borrowing is allowed.
