Students must either be Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, holders of a PERMANENT Resident’s Visa or holder of a visa or ImmiCard which would exempt them from paying International Student Fees to attend a Victorian government school at the time of this application. Evidence of Australian Citizenship (Birth Certificate or Australian Passport) or holding of a PERMANENT Resident’s Visa is required at the time of the test.

Applications for Nossal High School are open to all current Year 9 & 10 students.

• The examination is specific to the Selective Entry High Schools only – Melbourne High School, The Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School, Nossal High School and Suzanne Cory High School.  Students must sit this specific examination.  If a student registers for multiple Selective Entry High Schools, the registration first submitted will be allocated as the sitting school and the student will sit the test at this school.  This cannot be changed after Monday 1 June. Please note that the venue capacity at any one particular school may mean seating allocations need to be amended.

• Results from the examination will be transferred to the Selective Entry High Schools to which the student has submitted an Edutest application. Students must submit individual Edutest applications to each school and comply with the special application conditions, shown on each school’s website.
• Interstate or overseas applicants please contact: remote@edutest.com.au.  Remote testing incurs an additional fee. Remote sitting arrangements can take several weeks to finalise. Early contact with Edutest is advised.

Equity Consideration

• Candidates who wish to be considered for the Equity Consideration category will need to complete the form via the Equity Consideration links found on each of the four Victorian Selective Entry High School’s websites.
• A separate form is to be used for families who wish to apply for Equity Consideration for entry to one or more of the Selective Entry High Schools in Victoria.  Data provided in this form will be available to the enrolments team at all four schools: The Mac.Robertson Girls High School, Melbourne High School, Nossal High School and Suzanne Cory High School.
• To be eligible for Equity Consideration families must provide evidence that the parents/guardians of the child applying are experiencing financial difficulty and are not able to meet the additional cost of the full application fee/s.
• Once submitted, the evidence supplied will be assessed by the Selective Entry High Schools and the candidate will receive an email with the outcome.  All decisions are final and apply to all four Selective Entry High Schools.
• If the Equity Consideration application is successful, the candidate will then receive a single use link from Edutest which will enable them to register for the test at a reduced cost. Successful candidates will be given a 50% reduction in the application cost for each school they apply to. (Some families may have more than one child applying for the entrance test. If so, a separate submission for Equity Consideration must be made for each child applying for entry)
  Please note that application forms for Equity Consideration need to be submitted to schools 3 weeks prior to the application close date (i.e. Friday 8 May 2026).  No late applications will be considered
