2022 NHS Speech Night (Compulsory for all students)

Speech Night is the celebration of individual and group achievements for the year. The official program of the night commences at 7:00pm however students receiving this notification will be required to attend the venue from 10:30am for assisting with the event. The rehearsal will conclude at 3:00pm.

Students are to meet Ms DeZylva at the

They should arrive no later than 10:30am for assisting the set-up crew at the venue. Students who are running late or require assistance should contact Ms DeZylva on 0409 416696, including their full name in any SMS they send.

Students should plan to stay in the city for the remainder of the day, and therefore they should bring their food, or money to purchase food.
Please do not bring large bags to The Melbourne Town Hall as there is limited storage area.

When not in rehearsals, students will be released from the Melbourne Town Hall but should remain within the boundary of Federation Square (Flinders St) to Melbourne Central (LaTrobe St) and Elizabeth St to Russell St. Teachers will be located at Melbourne Central, Bourke Street Mall and Federation Square throughout the day. In the evening, all students are required are to assemble in the Town Hall for an attendance check commencing at 5:30pm.

The foyer (Swanston Street entrance) will open for parents and guests at 6:00pm. The program will commence at 7:00pm and a ‘lock-out’ will be enforced until after the official commencement of the event, (approximately 15 minutes between 7:00pm-7:15pm) when no guests will be permitted to enter the hall. It is intended that the Speech Night program will conclude at approximately 10:00pm. Parents are asked to ensure they are present to take students home. If a student is travelling by public transport, they should do so with friends in a group.

Dress Code:

All students are required to wear full academic uniform, including blazers, black socks and polished shoes as detailed in the Student Diary. Boys should also wear their tie. Students should be wearing all Nossal badges they have received on their right lapel of their blazer. Year 12 students should not wear their Year 12 jackets.

Transport: 

Students are required to make their way independently to and from the Melbourne Town Hall. If travelling by public transport, they should have a current MYKI with sufficient credit to cover the travel costs, and as indicated above, they should be travelling in groups. Should students experience difficulties during transport, if they are going to be late, or if they are ill and unable to attend, they should contact Ms DeZylva immediately
